This year’s camps are designed to be age appropriate for children 5-9 years old. Depending on the age of registrants each week, campers may be split up into age specific groups within their camp to allow for the most meaningful camp experience. Please note that all participants must be fully potty-trained and independent in the bathroom to attend camp.

There will be a minimum of 5 children and a maximum of 15 children per camp.

Our camp educators come from a variety of backgrounds, but all are experienced in working with kids in an informal education environment. Some are full-time teachers during the year, while others work in other education programs at CMoW. Our camp educators are CPR/First Aid/AED certified and coached to practice positive behavior management techniques, community building, and inquiry based learning.

Your child will need a snack, lunch, water bottle, and change of clothes. Outside toys are not permitted at camp.

Some camp activities will happen outside. Please apply sunscreen and insect repellent at home before coming to camp. Staff can re-apply aerosol sunscreen and insect repellent if you choose to send a labeled product with your camper’s name.

In the case of severe food allergies, please be aware that it is not possible for us to monitor the food other children bring into camp. If your child has severe food allergies, please let us know. Medications cannot be administered by Museum staff. If your child requires medication during camp hours, please let us know how we can assist in making arrangements for you. This does not include the emergency use of an Epipen. If your child carries an Epipen, please let us know. The Museum is committed to full and equal opportunity for children to enjoy the camp experience, and will consider all reasonable modifications to accommodate your child. While we hope to offer our camps to as wide a range of children as possible, it is not possible for us to offer one-on-one care. We ask that you provide detailed answers to the questions about your camper in the registration process. This information will only be shared with camp administration and your camper’s educators.

Drop-off for all camps starts at 9am at the Cowan House door on Second Street. If you need to drop off your child earlier, AM care with early drop-off starting at 8am is available for $25 per week. You can add this by choosing “Camp + AM Care” under “Ticket type” when you purchase each week of camp.

Camp pick-up is promptly at 1pm at the Science Center doors next to our main entrance on 116 Orange St. Please have your ID ready to check out your camper.

Yes! While we encourage participation in a full week of camp for the best experience, single day registration is available for select camps. Member discount does not apply to single day registration.

Registration for each week closes the Wednesday before the first day of camp at 5pm.

Cancellations made at least two weeks before the camp start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $35 cancellation fee. Cancellations made within two weeks of the camp start date are not eligible for a refund.

Member discount will automatically be applied at check out. You must have your account registered with our website and be signed in at the time of purchase to receive the discount and pre-sale availability. Membership benefits apply only if your membership is active at both the time of registration and the date of the event. Member discount does not apply to single day registration.

Scholarships or financial aid are not available at this time.
